Why does my drain keep blocking?
Clearing a blocked drain feels like a win, until it blocks again a month later. Repeated blockages almost always mean something structural that a plunger will never fix.
Common causes of repeat blockages
Tree roots growing into the joints of older clay or earthenware pipes, a sag or belly in the line where waste collects, a partial pipe collapse, or years of grease and build-up narrowing the pipe.
Why clearing it is not enough
Each of these lets the drain flow for a while, then chokes again. Snaking or plunging treats the symptom. To stop it for good you need to see what is actually happening inside the pipe.
What actually fixes it
A drain camera shows the cause and exact location on a screen. From there the fix might be high-pressure jetting and root cutting, a repair, or pipe relining, so the blockage stops coming back.

Are tree roots really that common in drains?
Very. Roots seek out the moisture and nutrients in pipe joints, especially in older Brisbane suburbs with established trees and clay sewer lines. They are one of the most common causes of recurring blockages.
What is pipe relining?
It is a way to repair a damaged pipe from the inside, without digging it up, by curing a new liner inside the old pipe. It is often the long-term fix for roots and cracks.
